Asturias captivates visitors with the power of its landscapes, the authenticity of its villages and the deep historical roots of its culture. On this journey we will discover some of its most emblematic places, combining hiking, heritage, local culture and gastronomy in a privileged natural environment.
We will walk through beautiful routes such as the Lakes of Covadonga, the Alba Route, the Bear Trail (Senda del Oso) and the beech forest of La Biescona in the Sierra del Sueve, enjoying mountains, forests, coastline and landscapes that showcase the natural diversity of Asturias.
We will also visit charming towns full of identity such as Cangas de Onís, Cudillero, Lastres, Tazones and Gijón, and learn about deeply rooted traditions such as mining and cider culture, both essential parts of Asturias' history and character.
This trip is designed to enjoy nature, share experiences with the group and discover at a relaxed pace one of the most distinctive regions of the Iberian Peninsula.
Departure on a Vueling flight at 07:15 am to Bilbao. Arrival and transfer to Oviedo, following the coastline and making stops at places of interest along the way.
Arrival at IBERIK Santo Domingo hotel, room allocation, dinner and overnight stay.
Departure to the impressive Lakes of Covadonga, one of the most representative natural areas of Asturias. We will walk the Lakes Route (approx. 7.5 km), surrounded by high mountain scenery.
Visit to the Sanctuary of Covadonga. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit to Cangas de Onís, former capital of the Asturian kingdom.
Departure to Soto de Agues to walk the Alba Route, a route of great natural beauty through gorges, forest and river landscapes.
Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit to the Museum of Mining and Industry (MUMI), where we will learn about Asturias’ industrial history.
We head to Entrago to walk the Bear Trail (Senda del Oso), one of the most popular routes in Asturias.
Participants can choose between walking or cycling the route, as there are bike rental companies in the area, making it an attractive alternative.
In the afternoon, visit to the picturesque fishing village of Cudillero.
Departure towards the coast to walk a route in the Sierra del Sueve, specifically through the beech forest of La Biescona (approx. 7.5 km), a unique natural setting.
Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit to Lastres and then transfer to Villaviciosa to visit the cider factory El Gaitero at 17:30.
Guided visits of the fishing village of Tazones and the city of Gijón. Free time for lunch.
Transfer to Asturias airport at 15:30 for the return flight.
