On this great journey we will discover some of the most fascinating places of the ancient Kingdom of Siam, combining the excitement of Bangkok, the history of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai, the spirituality of its temples, the natural beauty of northern Thailand and the welcoming character of its people.
An experience designed to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace, with a tour leader accompanying the group from departure, a Spanish-speaking guide throughout the tour, full board at the destination and a comprehensive itinerary through the most authentic side of Thailand.
This itinerary brings together some of Thailand's greatest highlights in a single programme: monumental temples, ancient capitals, lively markets, northern landscapes, local gastronomy and unforgettable experiences.
Meeting at Palma Airport for our flight to Madrid. From there, departure on an Iberojet direct charter flight in economy class to Bangkok. Overnight on board.
Arrival at Bangkok Airport, entry formalities and meeting with our local guide. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
In the late afternoon and evening we will visit Chinatown, one of the city's most vibrant neighbourhoods. We will walk through its illuminated streets, learn about the history of the gold trade, see the iconic Chinatown Gate and have the opportunity to discover Thailand's famous street food.
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a tour of Bangkok's main temples and the Grand Palace.
We will begin at Wat Trimit, known for housing the world's largest solid-gold Buddha statue. We will then continue to Wat Pho, famous for its impressive 46-metre Reclining Buddha and one of the oldest temples in the city.
We will finish our visit at the Grand Royal Palace, once the symbol of the Siamese royal court, where we will admire its pavilions, ceremonial halls and the magnificent Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon we will visit Asiatique The Riverfront, a large night market and shopping centre on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel followed by departure for the archaeological park of Ayutthaya, capital of the Kingdom of Siam between the 14th and 18th centuries.
We will visit some of its most representative temples, including Wat Chaiwatthanaram and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, historic sites that will help us understand the grandeur of Thailand's ancient capital.
We will then visit the Great Buddha of Wat Muang. Afterwards we will continue towards Phitsanuloke, a provincial capital and an ideal destination for lovers of natural beauty. Lunch included during the visits. Dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a visit to one of Phitsanuloke's most sacred temples: Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha That, a 14th-century royal temple greatly revered by local people.
We will continue to Sukhothai Historical Park, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered the birthplace of the first Thai kingdom. Here we will enjoy a relaxing bicycle ride among ruins, gardens, lakes and temples.
We will admire one of the area's great icons: the White Buddha of Wat Sri Chum, a monumental image covered in gold leaf and greatly revered.
In the afternoon we will continue towards Chiang Rai, stopping at picturesque Phayao Lake in the Ing River valley. Lunch included during the visits. Dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel. We will begin the day with a visit to Wat Rong Khun, known as the White Temple, one of Thailand's most remarkable and photographed landmarks.
We will also visit Wat Rong Suea Ten, known as the Blue Temple, a contemporary Buddhist sanctuary characterised by its intense blue colour and golden details.
Later in the morning we will travel to the famous Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. From a hill we can enjoy views over the Mekong and Ruak rivers, which mark the borders between the three countries. We will also visit the House of Opium.
Lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards we will depart for Chiang Mai. In the afternoon we will visit Wat Doi Suthep, northern Thailand's most sacred temple, located at the top of a small hill. Transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will enjoy one of the most special experiences of the journey: a visit to an elephant sanctuary, where these animals are cared for in a responsible environment.
We will learn their stories, discover more about their conservation and have the opportunity to feed them under the supervision of the sanctuary staff. A close, respectful and very moving experience.
We will complete the day with a visit to an orchid plantation and the traditional craft centres of Sankampaeng and Borsang, where we will discover woodwork, handmade umbrellas, woven silks, silversmithing, jewellery, ceramics and lacquerware.
Lunch included during the visits. Return to the hotel, dinner at a local restaurant and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to Chiang Mai Airport for our flight to Bangkok. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Lunch at the hotel.
In the afternoon we will visit Iconsiam, one of Bangkok's most spectacular shopping centres, located on the riverfront.
In the evening we will enjoy a dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River, an unforgettable way to say goodbye to the city while admiring some of its great illuminated monuments, including Wat Arun, the Grand Palace and the Temple of Dawn. Buffet dinner on board followed by return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, where hundreds of wooden canoes offer flowers, fruit, vegetables, drinks and local products.
During the journey we will see traditional Thai houses and observe everyday life along the canals.
We will continue to Mae Klong, home to the famous railway market, where the railway tracks run directly through the market and trains pass between the stalls several times a day.
Lunch at the hotel and, at the scheduled time, transfer with a Spanish-speaking guide to the airport for our direct flight back to Spain. Overnight on board.
Arrival in Madrid and connecting flight to Palma. Arrival and end of our services.
