From 12 to 17 October 2026, the second Camí de Santiago Mallorca group travelled through northern Portugal and part of Galicia. The six day programme combined walking and cultural visits, from the arrival in Valença do Minho to the final day in Santiago de Compostela.
In Valença do Minho, the group visited the fortress and historic centre before continuing to Braga and the Bom Jesus do Monte sanctuary. The Trilho da Geira in Terras de Bouro provided a day of walking through woodland. There was also time to explore Guimarães, including its castle and the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza.
Another stage followed part of the Portuguese Coastal Way from Matosinhos towards Porto, where the group visited the cathedral, historic centre and Dom Luís I Bridge. They then walked the Passadiços do Rio Vez, passed through Vigo and travelled to the Cíes Islands, where the route included a climb to the lighthouse. A visit to Santiago de Compostela brought the journey to a close before the return to Mallorca.
Time spent together accompanied the walks, journeys and visits throughout the week. For the association, travelling as a group is part of its close, family approach to exploring these places.
The travel video summary offers a chance to revisit these places and recall the days the second group spent together in Portugal and Galicia.
