In January, a group from Amics del Camí de Santiago Mallorca had the opportunity to experience an unforgettable journey to Egypt, travelling through some of the most iconic sites of Nile civilisation and sharing, once again, the spirit of walking together beyond our usual paths.
Arriving in Cairo marked our first encounter with a country full of intensity, contrasts and deep history. From the pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx to the new Grand Egyptian Museum, the group explored thousands of years of culture, art and spirituality.
The days in the capital were completed with visits to Saqqara, Memphis, the Citadel of Saladin, the Coptic Quarter and the lively Khan el-Khalili bazaar, places where history and daily life naturally intertwine.
The journey continued south with the visit to Abu Simbel and the beginning of the Nile cruise. On board, the pace slowed down, allowing time to enjoy the river landscape and remarkable sites such as Philae, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Luxor and Karnak.
Beyond monuments, this journey was about sharing, learning and connection. Egypt reminded us of the strength of shared paths, the importance of respectful curiosity and the value of living each stage with presence and gratitude.
